Natalie is an award-winning artist who sculpts with passion and presence

Her sculptures seem to have a soul and “speak” as if they were alive. 

A California native, Natalie grew up in the paradise of Santa Barbara, where she started drawing and painting in childhood. She has received commissions and outstanding achievement awards since grade school and attended life-drawing classes when she was 13.  She attended the University of California, Davis, when she was 18 to study with San Francisco artist Wayne Thiebaud and sculptor Robert Arneson.  Natalie received her BA with high honors in Fine Art from the University of California, Santa Barbara.  After studying with master figure sculptor Richard MacDonald in 2009 at his Monterey, California studio, she began making bronzes from her clay sculptures.   

It was through her spiritual practice as well as travels to many of the world’s sacred sites and temples (Laos, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Bhutan and Cambodia) that inspired her to sculpt Buddhas and devote herself more fully to spiritually based art.   

Beginning in 2007, her pilgrimages to India produced many profound spiritual experiences due to the highly blessed time spent with Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma (a spiritual teacher and avatar). Studying and experiencing Shaktism with Amma led her to sculpt the Hindu deities. Today, all of these bronzes are at Sripuram and worshiped in daily puja at the Sri Narayani Hospital and Research Centre’s meditation hall, as well as honored at the Sri Narayani Holistic Center.  

In addition to Sri Sakthi Narayani Amma, Natalie’s artwork has been blessed by His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Amma Sri Karunamayi.  Her dharma is to serve the Divine through her art in order to uplift humanity and help make the world a more peaceful, beautiful and loving place.
